You shouldn’t have to prep your kid for days or hope they hold it together for an hour. The right session starts with allowing your family to be exactly who they are; that’s where the best photos come from.

The person behind the camera — and I’ll always follow your lead.
My background in media goes back decades: documenting real, unscripted moments. I believe that pictures are meant to tell stories; to capture moments in time meant to be cherished.
This work is personal to me. I know how much it matters when someone treats your child, your partner, and your family as whole people. That’s the entire reason I do this.

Why this work matters to me
I believe a photograph does more than capture a moment. When it ends up framed on a wall or turned to in an album, it quietly tells the person in it that they matter, that they belong. For a child who is often made to feel like the exception, seeing themselves celebrated every day, right there on display, is a real source of confidence. That belief is the heart of why I do this.
I’ve been behind a camera since high school, working in video, photography, and just about every kind of media in between, so the craft has been part of my life for a long time. What sits closest to my heart, though, is who the work is for.
Before we moved to Wallingford, I spent years as a special education advocate in Florida’s Hillsborough County, the 7th largest school district in the country. I was a founding member of the Hillsborough County Special Education PTA, chaired a committee on the Superintendent’s Advisory Council for the Education of Students with Disabilities, led training for special education teachers throughout the district, and was part of the team that helped pass critical school funding for families who were counting on it. That work was honored with advocacy and inclusion awards from the Florida PTA, recognition from National PTA, a Volunteer of the Year award from Hillsborough County, and invitations to present at National PTA’s legislative conference and multiple Florida PTA conferences.
Now that we’re in Delaware County, I’m continuing that work closer to home, as part of N.E.A.T. (the Neurodiverse Education Advocacy Team) and alongside our local Home and School Association. The goal is the same as it has always been: making sure every child gets what they need to thrive.
